EARLY DAYS
Dr. Mohan Yadav was born on March 25, 1965, in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, to Shri Poonamchand Yadav and Smt. Lilabai Yadav. Growing up in the spiritual and cultural heart of India, he imbibed the values of discipline, service, and dedication from an early age. His academic pursuits reflect a commitment to continuous learning, with degrees in Bachelor of Science (B.Sc), Bachelor of Laws (LLB), Master of Arts (MA) in Political Science, Master of Business Administration (MBA), and a Doctorate (Ph.D.) from Vikram University, Ujjain. Rooted deeply in the traditions and ethos of Madhya Pradesh, Dr. Yadav’s early experiences shaped his vision of inclusive development, strong education systems, and grassroots empowerment.
A JOURNEY OF LEADERSHIP
Dr. Mohan Yadav's foray into public life began during his student years, where he emerged as a dynamic leader in student politics, serving as Vice-Secretary and later President of the Madhav Science College Student Union. His active involvement with the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) further honed his leadership skills, eventually leading him to the position of National Minister.
His administrative acumen was recognized with appointments as Chairman of the Ujjain Development Authority from 2004 to 2010 and subsequently as Chairman of the Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation from 2011 to 2013 .
In 2013, Dr. Yadav was elected as the Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Ujjain South, a seat he has successfully retained in the 2018 and 2023 elections. His tenure as Minister of Higher Education from 2020 to 2023 was marked by significant reforms, including the introduction of Indian epics like the Ramcharitmanas into the academic curriculum, aligning with the National Education Policy's emphasis on cultural heritage .
On December 13, 2023, Dr. Yadav was sworn in as the 19th Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh. In addition to his role as Chief Minister, he holds several key portfolios, including Home, General Administration, Public Relations, Jails, Mining, Aviation, Industrial Policy, and Investment Promotion . His leadership is characterized by a focus on transparent governance, youth empowerment, cultural preservation, and economic development. Dr. Yadav envisions a Madhya Pradesh that is prosperous, self-reliant, and proud of its rich heritage.
